Cold start

Hi, just picked up a 2007 197 and am loving it so far, only issue is for the first few seconds of driving from cold it kangaroos a bit. Once you get away into 3rd it's all good and then runs sweet.
any ideas???
 
Just one of those things that they do when they are cold.
Have a look at the MAP sensor on top of the engine see if that is loose.

There has been several threads about this in the How to section, This is available If you become a full member.
 
Thanks pacman, I'm coming from an 3.0dti a5 which is just so smooth.
I'll get used to it after a few miles I'm sure. Great fun though..
 
Yeah could be the map sensor, there's a how to thread of how to fix that. You need to be a paid member to view the forum though.
 
I just warm it up if possible for a few minutes. It's a pain in the ass.
And it is a common fault with these unfortunately.

Best practise to let any car warm up a bit :smile: I do also feel quite blessed that my 197 has never suffered with this!!
