Clutch / master cylinder dying [emoji15] where to go?

Hey guys,

Pretty sure the master cylinder is dying... Speaking noise kind of like a fan belt, goes away when you press the clutch. Also, vibration can be felt when driving, through the clutch pedal.

Seems to have happened after it was on the rollers at ktec... But probably just a coincidence ‍♂️

Where's best to take it, ktec want around £1050(ish). I live around Bracknell/Reading area but didn't want uncle Mick and his dyslexic in one eye son doing the work...

Sounds maybe like clutch bearing? It's a fairly labour intensive job so it's not cheap! Did Ktec quote for new clutch and master cylinder etc. as £1k seems a bit steep?

Clutch and master cylinder (which I believe includes the bearing).

Speak to Rentune, they are a bit of a distance from you in Leicester, but they do Clutch, Clutch Slave cylinder, exchange basis on a gearbox and labour for £750 (then just pay a bit more for the master cylinder if that has actually gone). Would be cheaper than Ktec and you get more for your money!

I only know this as I think I will need a clutch doing in the not so distant future, so a clutch kit is about £250-300 with the Slave, then labour is a good £200-300 depending where, so that is not far off that price alone, also means I could get a refurbed box (also I think I heard they'll even put the longer 5th and 6th as per the later 200s in it too, so better cruising ratios!)

Never heard of them, do you know of anyone using them, experiences, etc?

A lot of horror stories about [emoji107]

Horror stories about Rentune? Please share? There are many companies called "Ren-something", sure you are not confusing it with something else?

I know of a few people who have used them, a few on this forum, a guy from the FB page who runs the Clio197/200® group has used them loads, so much so he now wears them on his car (he is how I first heard of them).

Horror stories in general, nothing specific to these guys... Prefer going to somewhere that I know people have used and are good. If you get what I mean?

Sorry you didn't word it like that, sounded like you said bad reviews, as I couldn't find any.

Totally understand what you mean, I do same with companies.

Join this group and make a thread, loads of people have used them on there.

Also I thought Benno used them, but wasn't 100% sure.
