Clio 200 vs Lotus Elise

Thanks for all that, you think they are too expensive, I don’t, sort of sums it up I guess
Not really, he’s having a discussion and giving his reasoning... but if you choose to read it like that who is he to argue (or even discuss it with you)

Tbh I didn’t really consider that a balanced discussion and that’s why I’m out, pointing out the apparent hilarity of any buyer willing to spend 50k plus on a 20+ year old, non developed chassis that’s held together with string and rusty screws isn’t my idea of a discussion as a potential buyer of one, which I pointed on in my very first post on this discussion, actually felt quite personal tbh!

Ther was a v6 Clio sold not so long ago for over 65k I think, I’m not going to rip it apart on him and laugh him as I think it was far too much to pay! Fair play, if the guys happy then that’s all that matters.

Sorry op for the thread spam.

Cossers, I'm not the one who would fire personal attacks on a forum, not sure why you saw it this way, either way it was not my intention.

This is a discussion forum and we don't have to agree as such, all the above are all personal opinions from someone who spent 15 years amongst Lotus owners who use their cars as intended, with one being a Lotus specialist who's made tons or restorations (and very recently a 0 chassis mile S1 honda elise). I am fully aware of the quality of the Lotus product which allows me to form an opinion.

Appreciating cars mentioned again at the above post, not sure you get my point (Lotus pricing that is) but fair enough, I won't carry on. Facts are facts though, even the press criticised the 350 price in comparison to the GT4 back then stating the obvious - that the latter is a much better car for the money. Yes you couldn't get hold of it, but again, not the point. With pricing in mind, a latest Lotus product is now on the pricey side with no development to justify. Feel free to correct me.

I’m not going to try to correct you, I can’t, you aren’t wrong, it’s your opinion! I’ve mine, it’s different than yours and that’s why I’m going to go for the 380 with all the carbon bits.

Cheers for all the advice on the subject anyway.
