Bought Shurm's Cup on Friday and gave her a going over with the cleaning stuff today. The rain held off, couple of spots when i was halfway through but thankfully the heavens didnt open!

Meguiars Shampoo Plus -> Autofinesse Tripple -> Optimum spray car wax.
Autoglym Fast Glass, Meguiars Endurance tyre gel, Poorboys World Natural look for plastics.

Gel.
I put it on with a paint brush to work it into the tyre then wipe over it gently with a cloth to remove any excess that might be there. Never had a problem with it slinging it on the car when i've used this method.

I apply the tyre gel with a cloth, just a quick once over then take te car for a spin dry at motorway speeds and never had a problem with its flinging off
