cleaning inside of alloy

I'll probably try neat smart wheels first, 2 hits of smart wheels at 5:1 didn't quite get rid of it all. Never realised quite how severe brake dust from this type of pad can be (had been about 6-8 weeks since it's last wash)

I never use acid wheel cleaner or any strong acid stuff.

I only use autoglym TFR, machine cleaner with soft brush & Wax/seal after.

and you can see my wheels come up over 3 year old.

Your wheel looks really clean Giles, mine are only 2 years old and look 10 times worse! It doesn't help that 2 are damaged though. Did you take the wheel off to get the inside so clean or did you use a brush throught the spokes?

Thank you lol

yes I take the wheel off to clean inside & wax/seal. When I wash my car and use one microfibre thick mitt for the wheel, to get inside use the little stick with the mitt.

Very easy to clean cos the wax/seal has help.

Do you use 'normal' wax or some special wheel stuff? I'm only just starting to get in to detailling my car, before it was just washed with a sponge and then leatherd off. Now it gets a better treatment!

pm me I tell you little secret

come on do tell !

plenty on here given their secrets for other things :bounce:

and the best tip is..............................

...dont let them get that dirty in the first place:thumbup:

I can't clean my wheels often enough. A typical trackday for me for example:

150miles drive there
Around 150 track miles
150miles back

The amount of brake dust that gets stuck on the alloys are unbelivable. I need all chemicals to help.
