Cig lighter works but wont charge phone

Any one else had this problem?
The cig light works and satnav works plugged into it, but tried 3 different USB chargers for my phone but they dont work?

What type of phone is it? I have an old iphone that I use in the car for music as it connects into my parrot kit that won't charge of the cigarette lighter socket (but does from the parrot kit) while my HTC One m8 charges fine of the 12v socket (but only trickle charges of the parrot kit).

Does your phone come up with the low voltage charge message thing.

Mine barely charges the phone, I just don't think they have enough juice to boost the phone. Nothing faulty, they just require a higher output.

Buy the bigger 1amp charger. I remember in my 197 it would barely chwrge, if I used nav on my phone it would go down.
