Child seat recommendations plz?

We're expecting a little one July time and I was after some recommendations on child seats.

Ideally I'd like Recaros (to match with our R27's Recaros) but any suggestions welcome?

You need to be careful with child seats I know some have had issues with actually getting them in the car if you Recaros fitted. As you know they don't leave a lot of room or squeeze a child seat into the back seat.

I have standard seats and couldn't get my son's stage 2 seat in the back. He had to ride up front with me and Mrs in the back!

Ohh dear..are they really that bad?

The Mrs is a shortarse so her front seat will be in a forward'ish position anyway.

Must be some that fit, even if it is quite snug?

You will be able to squeeze a seat through the gap but not with your child in it!!! So its a big problem when they are a baby.

I have had a permanent isofix seat in the back now since my girl was 9 months old (now 18 months) and no problem lifting her in and out.

Thanks, would you say something like that (with the ISOFIX) is suitable for newborns or is it more for the slightly older (like your 9month onwards)?

ETA: Or would you say something like this suitable for newborns as can be used to carry or fix to a pushchair also? (these seats around £100 new)

9 months onwards for the Britax... before then she only went in the Clio a few times as it was easier to use the Mrs car

The new born ones like the recaro in your link will squeeze into the back but you will more then likely have to take your child out in order to do so... a bit of a ball ache if they are asleep.

Get yourself to mothercare or halfords and give some a try....
