Check ignition, check ESP... Limp mode.

Was just driving in the 200 and completely randomly the spanner flashed up along with the ESP light and it said check ignition and check ESP and was limited to 3000rpm. So pulled over and stopped the car and restarted it again and it's fine again now.
Anyone experienced this? Any idea what would cause that? Cheers.
