Cheap cambelt change Gloucestershire area (ex Renault mechanic)

Just thought I'd pass on a good deal to anyone in the Gloucestershire area looking for saving some money on a cambelt change.

Dephaser Pulley £180
Cam Belt Kit £125
Cam Shaft Plugs £12
Aux Belt + Pulley £15
Labour £93

Total £425

Remember that price includes the dephaser (£180) but that doesn't always need doing.

The guy is a local mobile mechanic who loves Renaultsports and has previously worked at Renault. To me he seems very good at what he does.

How about the aux belt pulley? I thought that came with the belt, but not at that price I presume?

Are they genuine parts also?

Aux belt pulley included too. And yes all genuine parts. In my case the water pump was inspected but not needed due to low mileage I guess.

not for £15 it isn't, that's a £72 kit

EVERY time, no exceptions. It's no different to any other idler/tensioner pulley.

VVT pulleys.....well I've never seen one even hint at being an issue on a F4R 830

Abit expensive that dephaser pulley, i got mine done, just for peace of mind, but direct from renault they cost £80, but £180, youve been done.

Hardly anyone includes this in the quote but I was told by both TDF and KTEC that this is due at 5 years. TDF told me these are normally cracked at 5 years.

Never heard of dephaser pulleys being a problem on the 197, wouldn't bother with it!

Just checked my quote with KTEC, worked out at about £660 for cambelt & tensioner, aux belt & tensioner, crank pulley & bolt, water pump, coolant change, oil & filter change. Price includes labour and VAT.

From what I remember of the itemised bill the crank pulley and belt was something around £120.

well i was standing by the service desk in my local specialist when they rang up renault for a price, and they quoted her £80, and i know im not wrong.

Dephaser is £98.68 from ktec including the bolt
