Changing a Door - MK3 200

I've woken up this morning to find someone's kindly left me a huge dent in my drivers side door and I'm almost certain it cannot be removed due to the large crease in part of the dent.

So I think the obvious option is to change the door itself, the actual replacement doesn't look to bad and is just a case of nuts and bolts the part that worries me is the keyless entry.

How does the system work, will I need to change anything from the old door to the new door in order for it to recognise my key? Or is all that done by the sensor for the key in the car and the sensor/button in the door are just standard sensors?

If anyone's changed a door before and has any tips they are much appreciated.

Start by putting the window down. Will make it easier to move.
Find something large to lay the door down to protect it.

Twist to discount the door loom from the chassis side
Undo the nuts.

Refiting in reverse, but loosen all the hinge fixings both sides, tighten enough so you can move the door to align.
once you're happy tighten them up

Eventually got round to tackling this yesterday. Time consuming but not difficult in reality.

I needed to change over the mechanism for the electric window, it is essential for the window to be removed to remove the mechanism, so for anybody else tackling this in the future it is worth knowing that the window has two holes in it through which pegs from the mechanism itself fit through. It became obvious why I couldn't get the window out when I found this out!!

Also worth noting I did not need to loosen both sides of the hinge thankfully, the new door has hung very nicely and hasn't needed any adjustment.
