center silencer removal?

I have a Milltek system with decat pipe and just wondering if there are any advantages in removing the center silencer. Thinking it would sound incredible but would I get any problems and would I need a remap?

the centre silencer is a straight through type so offers no real flow restriction - its more there to stop excessive boom/rasps before they get to the back box

been plenty on other threads about its removal - be worth a search

it is rather long, 25 pages, got to page 3 so far. Thinking I might try it already. ;-)

What is the milltek like de-catted? Does it pop often? I have just the cat back one and have a de-cat waiting to be fitted. Just unsure about it as I like the noise just want more pops! Haha. If you get it done let me know as I'd love to see what it sounds like!

Nope sounds like it was meant to be like it!! The car is bad enough on the motorway as it is but it doesn't drone anymore than it does normally!

The decated milltek sounds lovely, it does pop and burble but I wouldn't say its loud pops.It does drone abit in 6th at 70 but you just drive around it.

Looking forward to getting it done now haha. I found the standard car droned at 70 but at 80 is dead quiet, same with the milltek. I think you should get the centre silencer removed! Haha

Removing the centre silencer will have no effect on the MOT.

Removing anyone of the Cats is a different matter altogether

My standard set up is having the centre silencer removal tomorrow morning, and with a day off Hindhead tunnel might be passed, maybe even some commentary like Fernandez ;-)
