Carbon Wing Mirror opinion- anyone have them?

Hi all,

Had my eye on some carbon fiber (not wrapped) side view mirrors. They’re all of a sudden running a sale on these. Does anyone have them on or something similar?

My side view mirrors are a bit beat up and the electrical motors don’t work great… anything to know of I pull the trigger on these, assume they’re real carbon fiber?

I’ve always thought our beloved Clio’s had “large ears”. While convenient, these look sleek and hey, I might lose a few pounds with this new set : )

I used to have the carbon ones from ricambi tuning it,to be honest the finish wasn't great and be prepared to completely loose the view from both mirrors, only way I was able to use them safely is because I have a wide angle rear view mirror that covers your blindspot on the right, otherwise with bucket seats and harnesses is pretty difficult to see, parking is a pain as well.
You save 1,37kg with the carbon mirrors,I went back to the original now.

The finish on these ones you posted look alot better than mine were.

I also saw these at Beaniesport but they are from a different manufacturer than mine:

Good stuff, Veiron. Despite the finish you mention the mirrors look really sharp IMO. I struggled to find examples so thanks for the images.

I wound up buying the pair last night so once I get them installed, I’ll update with some pics.

Back in the States I have an old E36 M3 and it has really sporty but small side mirrors. I do just fine with that so I’m interested to see what you’re referring to as far as visibility. I never cared for the stock side mirrors on the Clio. I still don’t know what that divider is on the reflective portion and they jut out much too much. Here in Athens, roads are cramped and doubled parking is the norm so the car with its previous owner and myself have clipped a few mirrors.

Nice little weight savings, it’s not much but I think they look a bit better than stock.

A bit off topic but I see the hood pins on your red Clio. Do you have a lightweight hood installed? I thought about going that route but balked at the fact you don’t shed that much weight. It’s still on my list, though.

The divider on the mirror works like a "wide angle" to give slightly better view to the rear supposedly.
It would be nice to have electric folding mirrors like the 200 but it's quite difficult to find the additional wiring, somebody one here converted them so it's possible, saves you folding each mirror individually every time you park.
No the bonnet is stock, it's aluminum so it's already quite lightweight.
