CANBus

My first post so I thought I'd dive in at the deep end!

Has anybody successfully tapped into the CANBus on their 197?

I need to access some data for the data logger in our sprint and hillclimb car. I've tapped into what I thought was the CANBus at the display screen but not found anything using a CAN scanner (that I've used several times before).

I use a CANchecked display which reads data from the OBD2 port - albeit it has been hard wired in to the rear of the OBD2 port.

I have not done much to tap in to the CAN bus other than extract data for basic stuff like RPM, coolant temp etc., etc.

That's nice! We have a Lufi gauge fitted, not really for the data, but because it can be set to automatically clear DTCs so we, hopefully, don't get any faults during a timed run.

I think I've realised my error - the data connection to the radio and display aren't on the CANBus but on the VAN (Vehicle area network). Time to stare at a wiring diagram (again!).
