Burnt out wiper switch.

Went to the car Saturday night, must have nudged the wiper switch getting in when the blades were frozen to the screen, switched off staright away, but smoke came out of the switch.
On removal it's all melted inside.

I've priced a new one at £200 inc VAT......:nope:

There are a few on ebay, second hand, but the number printed on them doesn't EXACTLY match mine. None of the numbers are the Renault part number...that would be too easy, of course.

The number on mine is 88103003 156

I've found one where the number is 88103003 077.

Should I risk it?

Or do I have to have new?

Car is a 197 Sport on a 56 plate.

It fine, they are all the same. Say wiper stalk was from mk3 clio 1.4 and it will fit in 197.

If you've got a breakers near you give them a try, I get bits and bobs regular off one near me
