Boot latch snapped!

Hi, I had an issue yesterday closing the boot and having it bounce back up in to my face (Honestly didn't close it that hard!). The latch had a spring that popped out. Anyone else had this issue?

I know many many people have had the boot latch work loose/move slightly causing a rattle and making it hard to close. Never heard of one coming off though.

As above, never heard of one breaking, just them coming loose and rattling slightly.

It's like the returner spring had popped out and you could easily see it hanging out the little hole on the inside of the latch, if you look yourself there should be a spring there. Was wondering if it was a common fault, but clearly not :O! Previous owner must have been a boot slammer.
