Boot Catch Rattle

Afternoon,

Recently a rear end rattle has been annoying me a lot more than the normal horrendous French craftsmanship we all know and love.

Wanted to eliminate this before moving into exhaust.

I've just ripped off the boot trim to check out the boot latch to ensure nothing's loose. The catch doesn't look straight, is this normal?





Any help is welcomed. Sorry for iPhone pictures and dirty motor.

Thanks [MENTION=29138]Chris91[/MENTION] I've had the trim off and tightened everything up (did it the hard way as didn't have the tools as per Foxspeed).

I was more concerned with the catch/striker not being true/straight. Apologies if I've missed anything.

Can someone clarify if the latch should be bent or straight? cannot keep turning up the stereo haha

It doesn't matter. It only catches the end of it.

move the boot when it's closed, and see if it's up and down where there is movement. Undo the bolts and push the catch further towards the car if that's the case, retigthen them and it will close further down preventing it from rattling.

Mine had a rattle as well. I used some white lithium grease spray and that sorted it out for me. Might be worth a try.
