Body Control Module

Hi there,

I'm making an enquiry into the coding of the body control module on my 2008 Renault Clio 197, the wipers aren't working properly they get stuck in the middle of the screen, this is all that's preventing from passing it's MOT.

Everything else working ok. They've given me the option of sending the part to Renault to get recoded by them which was going to be £1000+ or finding another solution.

I was wondering if this is something anyone has had happen to them and if there is an option other than sending it off to Renault to be recoded.

Anyone know any specialist garages that could do this?

I saw someone posted a YouTube video of a guy sorting the same issue in a 25 minute clip on a 2006 Clio, would this maybe solve it?

Are you sure it’s the BCM? The BCM is the black box behind the glove box. The UCH (1337) is the white box in the engine bay.

Have you checked the linkage and the motor for the wipers?

The UCH can be recoded and they’re not linked to your ECU so can be swapped like for like with another.

Sorry I got my letters wrong UPC is the white engine fuse box which is interchangeable.

UCH is the BCM behind the glovebox - linked to the immo, ECU etc

Also check the wiper mechanism isn't partially seized. It's very common, did mine a couple of months ago.
