Blown Flexi?

Have / had the engine mounts been uprated ?
***The reason the standard manifold blows is partly because the mounts are so softs - and the flexi's take up more slack than they have too as the engine moves.....excessively i'd say.
Many fit the Toyo after the stock mani starts blowing because of its price compared to new standard mani. And that's 'fine' - if coupled with fitting uprated mounts (re: bushes) at the same time so it doesn't happen again.
But fitting a Toyo 'for the sake of it' to cure the immediate symptom - not the cause achieves nothing as-such. As you may unfortunately be finding out.

Cheers for the reply mate, and ahh ok I see. Are there any particular engine mounts you would recommend?
Power flex yellow series is what ‘everyone’ uses.
Hopefully someone can chime in with part numbers. All are readily available on eBay.

I'd only go for the last as the other two will cause too much unnecessary vibration at idle.

Rubbish IMO. Depends how sensitive you are I guess...
At first for sure I’d agree. 1000 miles in - and mine all settled down / broke in fine. Very occasionally at idle with Aircon on in summer I get a reminder with some bad vibes (Or you could argue a reminder they are still there doing their job
) - apart from that I don’t even notice. Both in the Clio, or when driving other cars......

I don't have personal experience with the upper and lower mount but I was told and read that people who had them installed got rid of them because they say it's not acceptable for a daily driver. Maybe they should have waited a little longer and let them settle in not sure.
What I can tell you is that I touched the wheel of 182 that had the black series installed and that thing was rattling like one of these paintcan shakers.

I've got the the lower engine mount insert (dogbone) and the upper torque arm bush so far and the extra vibration is fine with me. You get used to it pretty quickly and its worth knowing your flexi should last a bit longer. It makes the car feel a bit more responsive also
