Bearing noise

Hi all,

I seem to have a noisy bearing/pulley on the belt end of the block.

I can't pinpoint where it's coming from so was wondering if there are any common culprits? Alternator, tensioners....?

Cheers

Chris

air con pumps can be noisey and fail

there is an issue with the cambelt tensioners also making a "clicking" noise

This is definately a bearing type whirring noise, not a clicking. Come to think of it, I don't even know if the A/C works, maybe it is that that's doing it then!

Anything I should be worried about?, or just let it get on with it?

if you just have air con - press the button to hear the click and the compressor switch on - listen for the noise

climate control - i think you have to drop the temperature right down for it to put the air con on - listen for the cooling fan running at low speed - again check for the noise

you could drop the aux belt off - that will eliminate the alternator - air con pump and aux belt tensioner....

It does it all the time, weather A/C button is on or not. Although I don't hear the A/C compressor kick in when i turn it on?

I think it'll be an aux belt of job then, process of elimination I suppose.
