Ball joint

Just had my 200 MOT'd at the garage I work at which was a scary experience. The mechanics love to take the piss of my car (one of them has a 206 GTi and a 205 GTi and refuses to admit my car is better and faster than the 206) and one of them kept telling me it was failing on everything, which isn't what you wanna hear!
however, it only failed on wrongly spaced license plates, but got an advisory for the ball joint. Is this something I need to be looking at replacing soon (i know it's really expensive and i cant really afford it at the moment)? Will it be affecting the handling at all, is it likely to get worse, how can I stop it getting worse?

its an advisory so will need doing "eventually"

depends on which ball joint theres "5" per side on the 197/200...

they are not serviceable so replacement is your only course of action

Doesn't really narrow it down mate. Did they not specify which one?

Nah, I haven't got the MOT certificate yet, I'll check it once I've got it, don't think it did though. How can there be 5 a side? Surely it has to be an even number?

I'd imagine fox speed is referring to all the track rod end ball joints etc too

theres the following -

steering = inner and outer ball joints (2)

wishbone = outer lower (1)

perfo-hub = upper and lower (2)
