Back from Vegas

Not been on for a week or so and have to say I missed browsing the forum.:hug::hug:

Reason being a 5 day break in Vegas.:drunk:

I know I mentioned it to a few people and lots of you had already been - I have to say it was amazing.:tongueout:roud:

So much to take in I don't know where to start. The hotels and strip are just mind blowing, pictures don't do it justice and everything is just immense and lit up.

We stayed at the MGM grand and the hotel is the 3rd biggest is the world - as such we were greeted with a map when checking in (I still got lost all week);/

There were around 20 shops and restaurants and 6 or 7 pools I think.

The night life was great - loads of bars, restaurants and clubs (and Casino's!) and the one bar we went to (Ghost Bar) was on the 51st floor with a glass balcony which of an evening made the strip look stunning.

In total I reckon we had about 3 hours sleep a night and me and the missus are totally nackered now.

Didn't get time to go to the Grand Canyon but hoping to return and maybe do a drive to LA or route 66 some day.

A couple of things that shocked me (seeing as it is Sin City) were the amount of families there (why would you take your kids to Vegas??) and the amount of American tourists (met one British Person all week)

I would recommend it to any girls/guys or couples as it has everything you could want - just don't expect to relax - even the pools play banging music all day long.:thumbup1::thumbup1:

hey welcome back mate!

Thanks mate - I was worried about the weather they were getting out there towards the end so really glad to be back.

I'm going tomorrow  for 5 days. Where is this ghost bar?

Ghost is at the Palms. Also try Rains there.

Bank at the Bellagio is amazing and the swankiest (and most expensive) club you will ever go. There was a $400 dollar minimum spend to get a table (that's if you can get in!) and we were greeted by stunning girls in silver dresses dancing and serving us  (good for me not the missus lol)

We went to LAX Night club at the Luxur and it was a big shabby, reminded me of clubs back here.

Tabu at the MGM was good.

Really wanna go there. What sorta money did it cost if you don't mind me asking?

I imagine pretty expensive.

Not as expensive as I thought.

It's all about when you book - so I have been told by lots of people who go regular. Book a year in advance for massive savings - we booked around 10 weeks in advance :-(

Flight (Virgin Atlantic) and 4 star deluxe hotel for 4 nights (eg MGM) was around £800 each. The hotel was around £80 a night I think. Places like Ballys, Tropicana (3 stars) were around 60-70.

You can save a lot by not flying direct - but the flights then take about 17 hours or so..if your lucky. We flew direct from Gatwick and we could have used Virgin or British airways - not a lot in it.

The flights on their own were stupid, so always go through Ebooker (like we did) or similar for a hotel and flight deal (Virgin wanted about £1000 for flight only??)

Spending money is up to you.. I spent a lot on gambling. Food was quite dear especially in the hotel, so look for food courts for Mcdonalds etc in the day.
