Hello!

Member from 2010 and previous owner of a 197 im now again going to own a 197.

Sold up previously for a 300bhp focus st and it was great but just handled poo and brakes sucked. Then we were sadly burgaled and it was stolen. Finally was recovered and it just felt weird to be in it ha.

Then circumstances changed and had a daily trip of 75 miles and well although it was fun it cost far far too much. So i sold up and brouht what i classed as a "sensible" car. Honda Civic types s gt diesel. Which has been great but we have now relocated and its a 20 mile daily trip so can now have a fun car.

Looked at loads of cars and the shortlist was

Audi S3
BMW M3
Ford Focus ST-3
Honda S2000 GT
Nissan 350Z GT
Renault Clio 197
Renault Clio 200
Renault Megane 250
Volkswagen Golf Mk5 GTI
Volkswagen Golg Mk4 R32

Finally settled on the Clio again as it ticked all our boxes and just the best overall package deal.

Picking up the new car on Thursday from Renault Milton Keynes.

2008 197 in Albi blue with cup pack, recaros and cornering lights.

Thanks everyone. Can anyone reccomend a Hid kit for the cornering lights at all? Also the issue with the cold start kangarooing did the remap cure this or was it still a common issue??

Don't know this for sure but I would have thought it would be a bit pointless spin the cornering lights because they'd be on and off before they had time to heat up properly and give out 100% of their light output as they take a second or so to warm up? Correct me if I'm wrong but this is the way I understand it :-/

Yeah after some googleing i have found that the hid kit will be pointless so just going to try some different bulbs instead. Wanted the xenons but finding the car with the spec i wanted was near impossible ha. Thanks

Cool for once I wasn't being sense then haha. How about the night breaker plus ones? I have them in my dipped beam and they are pretty good for standard type legal wattage bulbs?

Ha "help" the optimism is great. It always seemed if the engine was left to warm up before pulling away it was fine so i will wait and see.

Also yes there are a few bulbs i have looked at. Will trial a few over the year i think and see what the difference is like. Thanks for the reccomendation though.

Just wondering if someone owns my old car on here.....

Glacier white ff with cup pack and cornering lights. Reg hk08 but cant remember the last part. Was probably purchased from Evans halshaw vauxhall in milton keynes about 18 months to 2 years ago.

My car is always fine after its slightly warmed. I've had it mapped as well, but I generally don't have an issue with it
