Anybody changed a 197 stub axle assy?

The bottom swivel on what I know know Renault call a stub axle assy on my wife's car is knackered.

These are £200 from Renault.

Apparently they're a bit of a bugger to fit, I've been advised to use a ramp.

Any body here swapped them??

Did you ever do this? One on mine has massive play and the other slight. I can hold a spanner but don't fancy getting so far and having to give up - with the car in bits.

rapter on here has changed the swivel joints instead of the whole assembly - have a look at his progress thread

Yep, phoned a couple of places to get them changed, but Renault wanted £450, indy never got back to me!
Did them myself, needed to buy some female torx bits and allen socket bits, but did them on the drive!
Took about 6 hours for the first on and 2 1/2 for the second!
