Another bulb question

I have a 2007 197 non-xenon.
There are loads of posts about which bulbs are needed for the clip 197 but I am now unclear which I need.

- Halfords and auto bulbs direct say I need H1 and H7
- Some posts on hear say I need H1 for both
- Renault UK (over the phone) have said that dipped and main beam both use H7 bulbs on my car
- my owner manual says I can use either H1 or H7 but doesn't make it clear.

Does anyone know which I need?

have you got reflectors or projector headlights, projector use h1 dipped beam, reflector use h7 dipped beam, high beam on both are h7, side lights on both are 501

Mine are reflectors (ie. no domed glass lens in front of the bulb).

H7 both then I think. I have a 200 and its H7 for both (fog lights are H7 as well).

shame that the online car bulb finders dont accomodate this. they say for a 2007 clio that its H1 and H7. only 2008 onwards has H7 and H7.
