A few pics of my 'murdered out' 197..

Just spent some time on the 197 and gave her a first clean, started with a snow foam, 2 bucket wash, clay bar, machine polish and glaze, and now were just about there! Few little bits to sort but pretty happy with how it's looking

Tbh I know black is a bitch for it, and always a struggle but I used a maguiars paint cleaner followed by poorboys black hole glaze and it came up really nicely, there'll be some im sure in different sunlight but minimal!

I rarely wash mine, due to it raining as soon as I'm finished 90% of the time!

What are you thinking? ..my thoughts were carbon style Renault badge covers and boot debadge, would eventually like projectors too!

I'd get rid of the clio badge, and spray both diamonds, door handles and bullets. Leave the Renaultsport chrome though.
If you wanted to go all the way, you could get some headlight tint and do the rear lights in light smoke. Personally I'm not a fan of it, but that along with tints would be full serial killer spec

Remember though, it's your car to please you and you only. Don't let everyone bully you into putting a meg engine in it.

Yeah I'm not too keen on the smoked light look either but the other bits are all sat on the to do list haha

I think the idea of a meg engine as nice as it'd be is a long journey down the road, id struggle to get authority from the boss, obviously an exhaust system was needed though so that's on order.. mine 'had a blow' - easily justified

Glad we share the same view on smoked lights haha.
I know it's cheap but I have the toyo catback, but the previous owner got a mid silencer welded in, sounds brilliant for what they cost!

I know what you mean, it's a colour you know isn't going to last 5 mins clean, but looks awesome whilst it is (so have to get as many pics as you can in that 5 min period)
I use Maguiars Carnauba Plus paste wax as top coat, always got on well with it had only just started raining when I took that, but beads really well, this was my TT when it'd been sat in the rain all night...

Please keep diamonds and all Renault Sport badges genuine. Your car need contrast and leaving the badges as so will keep your car looking as good as new.

I really don't see the big attraction with these black diamonds, maybe just my age though.

I hear you, I'd like to see how it looks first, I do like the idea of darker badges but then like you say might lose the contrast it gives, especially when the stainless exhaust is on show will look more matchy matchy..
Very tempted to lose the CLIO badge though regardless

Speaking from experience, I'd keep a few silver parts. It helps break up the lack of colour. Mine is staying with silver bullets, handles and badges. Mine has the CLIO badge removed but the Renault Sport badge remains. I may be biased but I think it looks awesome I'm actually changing from black wheels soon but that's another addition for my project thread for another day!
