A few new upgrades

Been collecting a few parts over the last few months since buying my 197 in January and finally got them all fitted.
3 x powerflex engine mounts
Cup dampers (bought 2nd hand)
H&R springs
Silverstone wheels
4 x AD08r
Full alignment

Very happy with it, hopefully get on track at some point this year.

All worthwhile mods. You'll appreciate the springs & cup dampers on track. Love the colour of the wheels! Works well with black car.

Looks great with all the additions. Don’t often see that wheel colour with black. Love it

Cheers all.
I did have another set of standard 197 wheels that needed a refurb but the silverstone wheels came up for a great price including the near new ad08r. The silverstones where already painted in this colour and I was unsure at first, but it works well and is a little different so I’m happy.

Oh that is nice!! I'm a big fan of the murdered out all black look, but I must say this looks brilliant!!

Pretty much ready to go for track, where you thinking of heading?

Same here, original plan was black wheels or silver but I’m liking the bronze now!

Track wise I’m thinking local-ish for now so I’ve got Brands / Lydden Hill are the nearest or may stretch to Rockingham / Snetterton / Bedford.

Shame Goodwood is so expensive as it’s only about 20mins from me!

Are Silverstones a preferable track wheel? See quite a few getting them for use as track wheels, is it just down to them being cheap?

They’re cheap, strong and have a better offset than standard. Only downside is they’re quite a bit heavier than an aftermarket alloy.

Pretty much what Big Ben said.
I mainly bought them as they came with the tyres I wanted which have done circa 500 miles. I saved £200+ buying these over refurbishing my spare set of 197 wheels and buying brand new ad08rs.

I do really like the look of the silverstones though, a little bit like the speed lines? (Possibly not speed lines, I’m new to this Renault stuff!). These ones are only 7j, I’m under the impression there are 7.5j silverstones out there?

Thanks guys.

Can't be too far from @Micah then! Wouldn't mind doing Brands but it always looks pricey when I look into it!

The only issue I have with them is the change in offset (and narrowing the rim also) will potentially adversely effect the handling by moving the wheel well outside the centre of the effective centre point of the just like spacers do, I have seen many times have you seen it written that spacers made handling worse, well different offset/width wheels are just the same, Ive bought some 197 rims in need of refurb as winter rims for my 200 cup

How do you find them compared to a normal cup or 200 rim?

I think they’re better for trackdays. Wider track front and rear. Plus they fill the arches better which aesthetically is much nicer. Only talking mm’s but I wish I had a few more!
