Hi all

What options have people used for a tidier AC delete kit?
Few options out there and a wide range of prices

Thanks for any help

I believe @RSRowe had lots of issues with the ktec one snapping bolts.

I've had the PMS one fitted for a while and its been fine, easy to fit and can get replacement pulleys/bearings easily.

I also had the cup one which came on my old Clio cup which was also fine, only issue was I couldn't find any replacement pulleys when I crashed and broke it off :grimacing:

I have fitted the Ktec one for a year now, which is also the cheapeast,I like that it mounts the alternator down and moves the weight near the bottom of the engine and frees up space at the top.
I have marked the bolts and always keep an eye and so far so good,my tensioner was also noisy so made sense for me to get the Ktec one as it removes it,but I would probably go for the PMS one for peace of mind tbh.

I bought a second hand aircon pump (with pulley) and will end up splitting it open (from the rear) and gutting it out. Not done this yet but read on another forum that it means you can retain the factory setup and makes the pulley spin freely (as opposed to under any load with the AC gubbins still there). Not as neat and probably a bit more work involved but I paid £20 for a second hand pump, costs nothing to strip it out and give it a go.

Though, if I had less time on my hands I'd probably just go for the PMS kit as mentioned above.

Reference to where i read up someone gutting their pump:

Cheers for the info gents
Has anyone got pics of the kits fitted?

I am tempted with the Ktec just for the price - but have had Pure Motorsport stuff in the past and their gear is spot on
Some big cash is involved with the PMS but pays for quality

The current set-up is fine due to no AC anyway
But while the engine out it would be nice just to make it a bit neater
