A/C and rad fan fault?

Charged the a/c gas in my wife's 197 and thought i'd top mine up as it's not the best!

Wife's went ok, my 200 read 100 psi on the air con top up gauge and came out the vent hot-looked up at the dash and it came up engine overheating-the rad fan isn't cutting in.

Any ideas?

I can't answer the rad fan fault but how did you recharge the A/C? Pretty sure it's done on weight of refrigerant and oil rather than psi?

cooling fan is ecu controlled iirc

best check fuses and connections and also that the fan can rotate freely first

gather you used one of those top up cans?

Bought a kit from Halfords-compared the wife's car to my own!

Will call Fred at BTM tomorrow, fuse ok, fan rotates fine.

Reckon there's a sensor somewhere linked to both?

Sorted it!

Checked in front of battery for a relay and found a 40amp maxi fuse with one leg in the main fuse box and the other in a green add on that clipped in to the main fuse holder. The green bit wasn't clipped in, so one leg wasn't making contact. pulled the green bit up, pushed the fuse in and it pushed the green bit down again! Held the green bit in pilace the next time and pushed fuse back in-tested it and fan and a/c clutch cut in fine. Needs air con topping up are they all this cxxp?
