A blockage in our air feed???

Alright I read somewhere otherday that some one had to drill a part of their airbox out due to bein blocked off or something can't quite remember exact. But another guy said he had done the same where's this blockage? Or am I getting confused cheers!

Only thing I can think of is the ''flap'' behind the drivers-side grille which sits in front of the feed pipe to the Airbox.

A few people have cut this out, not sure why it's there or what's to gain by it being removed but there's a few threads on here about it somewhere.

yeah confused mate, the intake that comes from yr drivers side grill believe it or not doesn't! it just goes into a very small blanked off box and has no influence from the front grill, however, some people have cut the front out of this box to free up some fresh air but its a bumper off job to do it properly, for all this will help u still wont get ram air from this as the front grill isn't even close to lining up with the driver side feed, hope this helps

I'll try and see see of I understand bud , just I can't see how the other induction kits are guna be worth money I.e the r3 box yeah it will improve but it's not going to be worth the price of it tbh... Etc same with maxigen and BMC stuff can't see them benifiting over the standard box I mean Renault won't have just put any old **** on ... :/ just tryin to find what's best lol cheers again!

renault cant put performance filters on mate cos of regulations,at the end of the day for all people like u and i like induction noise, the majority of the public probably dont,i myself will be fitting an R3 airbox when fernandez has finished developing them so watch this space, you'll never get massive gains from a N/A clio, but you'll get a TITCHY bit more fun
