5 year service, Cambelt time

So It's time for my 07 44k 197 to have the money rinsing 5 year service and cambelt change, yuck.
So after reading that people have taken it to renault and they made it worse and not mentioning prices the renault dealers were throwing out, I have decided on distance and recommendation to go to k-tec in bournemouth at some point in 2 weeks time.

Just for some laughs for you, I did think it would be worth a laugh seeing what my local renault dealer were going to offer me since I was there picking up a steering wheel insert,..£1200..I laughed and left without even trying to haggle.

Anyway..just thought I'd ask on here to see how long the whole ordeal takes

Thanks

Surely as it's an 07 it's way overdue it's change?

As it was reg'd in early 2007, your cambelt / tensioners service was due in early 2012.....

Also, I got my old 57 plate serviced at a Renault dealership, initial quote was £1290, I managed to get this down to £790....

It never felt quite right though, so i'd recommend taking it to an independent specialist (plenty on this forum and ClioSport.net), where a) it's usually around the £500 mark and b) they'll time it correctly.

Also recommend getting the waterpump done at the same time as the belts for the meager cost of the part.

Mine was done within a day, including it's MOT, failure of said MOT and subsequent pass.

Ive just had mine done by renault cambelt, water pump, pullys and de-phaser for £500. Was abit more but due to them getting the rong pully the knocked some off.

Had mine done on Monday by TCR they did a great job £150 plus vat just for the labour I got the parts from renault

After reading the above I must of had mug written across my face, I was in a rush though so didn't bother to try get it Down!

Yeh ive read getting the waterpump done too is worthwhile, so shall get it included. Cheers for the replys
