225 profile on standard alloy

Ive just bought some new conti sc3's in a 225 profile. I hate them lol! With my car being lowered they rub and stick out further than the 215 profile, of which on my OZ's i have had no rubbing or problems what so ever!! So thinking i might bang them on my R27 wheels and just get some 10mm spacers. Would a 225 be ok on a standard wheel? Does anyone run them?

I'm running 225/45 Toyo's on Raider's, H&R springs & no spacers - no problems with the handling or rubbing.

Although I have been curious about going the oposite way - 215/40 's as I think there's 20 something mm difference in diameter.

How wide are the oz's? Some are 8j in which case I'd have thought they'd be fine as standard raiders are 7.5j.

10mm spacers should solve the problem. But that's just yet more money!!

^^^^^yes you'd be right as in the size fits fine on an 8j. But like I said because it's low it rubs where as the 215 profiles didnt. Cheers guys
