225/45R17 on the 197?

Has anyone done this? Michelin pilot sports are available in this size and cost about the same as the CS3 in 215/45R17

They are wider than a standard road tyre though.

Rolling diameter is also a bit bigger.

Raptor, do you think you would have been ok if your car wasn't lowered? Also, were you running spacers?

Standard height should be fine. 888s are wider than normal tyres.

Mark had 235s on his standard cup suspension on his 197. No probs.

they should be fine, the height of 225 45 17 is still 3mm lower than 225 40 18, personally I think the 215 45 17 looks like there is not enough rubber on the wheel and was thinking about 225 45 17 myself, the spring comes I will have to make my mind up, like on the meg, the cup has 235 40 18 whereas noncup gets 225 40 18, wonder what kind of impact on performance, road feel such a change would bring though when I didnt like the feel of driving on the 18s in my 197 car felt like it was somehow disconnected...
