197 handbrake

Handbrake pulls up a long way is this normal or do I need a bit of adjustment.

Mine just sits by the top of the seat base when it's up. Drove my mates the other day and his was sitting lower.

So probs some adjustment dude

how does one adjust the handbrake on a 197 then?

before adjustment make sure you press the brake pedal hard a few times to make sure the auto-adjusters are fully up

the handbrake is adjusted -

move the seats forward - 2 screws on the side of the centre console at the rear - remove these - this allows you to lift it up to get at the adjuster - iirc its a 10mm (i think been awhile since i have done one) - adjust as required

if you do it your best doing it with both wheels off the ground to make sure they still rotate freely after being adjusted

adjustment from 3-7 clicks i would say

Mine always has sat very high but holds the car well on just a few clicks.
