197 cup cambelt dephaser help

I haven't heard this before. Most members on here do the dephaser at the same time as timing belt. I thought the 197 engine was basically the same engine as 1*2's but with a few differences. Depahaser issues could be one of them

This is correct, The chances of needing it replacing in the lifetime of the vehicle is slim, people do it because it's peace of mind.
