    Check your brake discs!

At least its not just mine then. probably does not help that the pads tend to stick on the rear in the cold and wet, cant be doing the discs any good when they crack off. Mine got properly stuck over the winter and the misses drove it with the wheel locked for about 100yrds and flat spotted one...

    Check your brake discs!

It is a strange camera angle, and it does not taper off at the edge, there is the usual ridge on the far outer edge as i thought, sure i would have notice it if it did taper off at the edge as like you said that would be a very strange wear patern

    Check your brake discs!

To be fair I always change the pads with the discs. This one looked fine from the outside, but did get a shock when I got it off, the pad was badly ridged, and in no way suitable to go back on. The renault service centre surely would have known this just by looking at the corrosion on the...

    Check your brake discs!

Just changed the rear discs on the 197, the car was showing all the usual tell tale signs of a problem, squeeking under braking and the handbrake sticking on. Put the car in for its service and they came back as an advisory that the rear discs were breaking up, the service centre were willing...

    Changing handbrake cable

Cheers for that luke I will hopefully have a look at it at the weekend, as long as the weather is ok. have had a look on ECP website and it looks like you can buy it in parts rather than replacing the whole thing, which might be easier as it is only the rear off-side that is sticking. sound like...

    Changing handbrake cable

Just changed the rear brake pads and discs on the 197, and after lots of cursing and headscatching as to why the off-side rear caliber would not wind in I noticed that the handbrake was sticking on. So now have to replace the handbrake cable. Does anyone know if this is an easy to do job, looks...

Hello good people My name is Ryan and am based in Leicestershire. Me and the misses have a 197 that is completely standard apart from the Renault sport exhaust tips. Thought I would join up to say hello, get some ideas and information as im fed up with Renaults service and pricing.
