Glad I bought from a dealer...

Richard Sanders, Kettering. Didn't like the Birmingham or Solihull dealers, can never seem to book the car in on any decent time scale, or they want you to leave it the whole day with no courtsey car.

Glad I bought from a dealer...

...I know! Not something you usually read, but a big thumbs up from the dealer I bought my 197 from. Had my service this week with them, as part of the condition when I bought the car, they would carry out the next service FOC. A broken coil spring was spotted which was replaced, and while it...

    Will these fit

You'd be supprised what a tyre can go through. I'll stick a video up tomorrow that is cool to see. GtiR I think, i was shocked how much abuse tyres take.

    Will these fit

Goes without saying though really. As long as there is no fouling, then it can't fail an mot for wheel/tyre sticking out past the arch, as it isn't tested. If something isn't tested, it can't be failed... Just like airbags, some will say that if airbags have deployed, its an mot fail. Again...

    Will these fit

Sorry guys, that's not an MOT fail. I challenge you to find me the section it would fail against. :D

    Stripping Brembos

I just use to use little plastic caps that screw on, and wrap some tape around it. Like the ones you get when you buy new lines, little red things.

    Part Number Please

Someone's been wearing high heels. Anything you want to share with us? :D Try taking it off and popping the dent out first?

    Stripping Brembos

Can you regulate the air line. Sometimes they don't need much pressure to pop them out. Have visions of them flying across the room with a trail of brake fluid close behind it. :D

    Stripping Brembos

Also when putting the pistons back in, put some fluid into the caliper where the pot is going back in to. When you push it in, some will squirt out, but it helps in removing air bubbles in the caliper.

    Stripping Brembos

Haven't done Clio ones, but done plenty of brembos from other cars, Nissan, ford, fiat etc. All pretty much the same. When you say stripping them, you mean just popping the pots out and changing the seals. I wouldn't bother splitting them to paint them. You can use the pressure of the brake...

    Odd noise

Who did the change? Ticking noises that pick up with revs generally aren't good in my past experience. Nothing silly like a bit of plastic vibrating against something under the bonnet?

    Needing new brake pads soon

For an improved feel on the pedal, swap out the standard lines for braided ones. They don't flex as much under pressure and will take out some of the slop or spongy feeling you get when braking. Pedal will feel firmer and give you more confidence in your brakes as it won't have to travel as far...

    The world's biggest knobhead

Pagid are a good brand. Would class them the same as Brembo tbh.

    Needing new brake pads soon

When you say performance, what are you after? More feel through the pedal, better bite, longer lifespan, reduced fade? On the road, if you can still lock the brakes up, then to get 'better performing' brakes you need to look at your tyres. I swear by DS2500's, but then I like track days too. If...

Cost of shipping a standard exhaust

Was going to suggest them! Excellent for all bulky car parts.

    Front Brake Seals

Your best ringing them up. The one listed at the bottom isn't the right one for brembos.
