    If you are using links, make sure they end with .jpg or .png Also use the 'direct link' not the 'image link' Anything else after the link will break the images I think...

    Gearbox whine!

    My clutch doesn't properly release until it's all the way hitting the floor, sometimes doesn't release at all so I try to change gear and it just grinds against the new gear. Does it only happen when the car is cold?

    Gearbox whine!

    Watching closely as I also need to bleed brakes/clutch and don't fancy paying out for it to be done...

    Welcome, good to see another 197 pottering around the Loughborough area... Get some pictures up if you can, everyone likes looking at them and I might see you driving around sometime :thumb:

    Nimbus 2008 197

    Unfortunately, being 20 years old makes the insurabce very twitchy to mods. As much as I'd love having a new catback, my wallet would be seriously stretched doing it. If anything else went wrong with the car it would be difficult to afford it...

    Nimbus 2008 197

    So, been a long while since I updated this thread.... Got the car back, ended up costing over £1500. Had to be done though due to surrounding circumstances. Car seemed to have developed a very slight rattle around 6-8k revs, but ignored it for a while until a few days ago. Noticed a burbling...

    Friendly reminder not to drive like a cock...

    Unfortunately didn't get a plate. I thought I was being relatively sensible but I'd expect with driving like that he'll get himself nicked soon enough anyway. And of course after that I caught up with him at a red light. He was revving and shouting at me to 'go on mate' trying to get me into a...

    HIDs = NO NO

    Any idea where the sensors actually are? Haven't had a look yet but will be good to know where to look....

    HIDs = NO NO

    Yeh I figured the movement was intended but whenever I adjust the beam so it settles at the correct level, it goes back to pointing at the ground and not moving....

    HIDs = NO NO

    I'm fairly sure something is broken on mine but not sure. They alternate between two 'modes'. One 'mode' is a static mode where they won't move at all when you turn them on, this is the lowest mode. The other will move them down then up quite a distance whenever they get turned on, so they...

    HIDs = NO NO

    Although my self leveling decides to angle the light wayyyy too high at random intervals so it just does more harm than good...

    New 197 owner

    Certainly sounds like a bit of a project. Notchy gearbox is going to need a total rebuild to fix, can be quite pricey. Potentially new clutch+cylinder too. If you have that sort of money to splash on a car you only just bought, I smell a megging coming on....

    200: Special 1.6 Liter RS 200 by Porsche!

    If they can't figure out the engine size what's to say the mileage isn't a load of bollocks too?

    Gear knob re-cover

    Not to hijack the thread but is there a how to on replacing gear gaitors? I've had one sitting around for a while but never figured out how to deal with the big staples under the clip.
