Thanks for the advice. This might sound a bit odd but I've decided to try fresh standard fluid (whatever it is).....Renault are offering brake fluid change for £39 so I'm booked in at Renault St.Helens on tuesday. Saves me a lot of messing.

I'm doing a trackday next Friday at Oulton. I have an 18 month old 200 Cup. Should I change the brake fluid for 5.1 stuff? I'll be running Carbotech XP8 pads too.

I guess you can really - I just have this daft fear of being turned down for a warranty claim because of racing brake pads or sticky tyres. I just don't want the hassle. Its a fair point tho Noddie, maybe I shouldn't worry so much.

Clio R26R and a years free trackdays. I'd buy one. A clio painted grey and fitted with bigger wheels (Silverstone Edition) does not warrant a £20k price tag!

thanks for the responses fellas - some really useful opinions. I'll stick with the road pads for now as it's winter and grip levels won't be what they are in the summer. Race pads on for the spring. :-)

I'm fairly convinced these cars run very rich - it be interesting to see some data. Even when driving very carefully I'm lucky to see 30mpg. I know the 197/200 is heavier than the 1*2 but the difference in fuel consumption seems disproportionate.

Hey, Im looking at doing a trackday at Oulton park in my 200 Cup. Are the standard brake pads ok for track use? I drive pretty damn hard on the track and I normally fit race pads, but this is my first outing with a 200.

I got a jack - I simply asked for one (200 Cup) It's useful for taking the wheels off for cleaning - tho two wheels come off the deck at the same time. Comedy.
