@trackspec197 which prongs are those? Inside the wiper stalk?

Right lads, my 197 failed its MOT on a few things (7 to be exact), I've managed to fix them all bar one: the horn. Normally I wouldn't care (its just one of those Renault things) but I need it through the MOT. The horn itself is fine as I have tested it off the car, but there is no power to it...

@tommytt did you ever get to the bottom of this? Having similar problems

I have the exact same problem @tauhammerhead, the trip computer buttons don't work but the rest of the stalk does (wipers etc). I swapped out the stalk unit and no difference. Also checked the wiring from the stalk, all seems fine. Another suspect thing is the horn has stopped working too now...

hi guys I've got some used Spax coilovers to go on and just wondering where to start with the adjustment on the fronts before I install them. Don't want them daft low just a good start poiningt to get me going Anyone any suggestions? Ta

Cheers lads managed to get it swapped, the ball joint itself is a piece of piss it's all the knackered bolts which you have to tackle before it! Now I've just the pinch bolt which needs drilling out then onto the next side

is it possible to just undo the top mount bolts and remove the whole thing? as I've had another look today and can't remove the ball joint on the lower control arm to the bottom of the hub. it just wont budge doesn't help that literally every bolt i go to just rounds off lol

Yeah, that makes sense. I will give it a try tomorrow. I was trying to undo the three bolts holding the pinch bolt unit (?) to the outer hub, but I only managed to get one out as they're very awkward to get at

right lads looking for a bit of advice off anyone who has replaced the lower ball joint on a 197/200 themselves. Attempted it today but it's bloody slow as the cars 10 year old and don't thing the suspension has ever been touched, so naturally I've ended up having to cut or drill most bolts out...

Hi mate. Sorry i can't help answering your questions but I'm in a similar position and need a new fuel pump. Im thinking of doing it myself and cutting a bigger hole in the seat bottom, is this what you did? If so any pointers/stuff to watch? Is it just a plug and play job once you have access? Ta

It's the Eonon GA1312 I believe. Although there are quite a few for sale which look identical but go under different names. It's a cool bit of kit, deffo recommend it. You can close the screen away without powering it off which is useful

Mine had this problem too. I'm not sure what the actual cause was for certain, but I put a new steering rack in as mine was on the way out and the problem disappeared....So it could be a worn rack Probably not what you wanted to hear lol

Thought i'd weigh in here - funnily enough I've just bought a single din Android unit last week and fitted it straight away. Works pretty well. Bought it off ebay for about £230, bit different to yours in that it has a flip out screen instead. I will upload some pics when I figure out how...

Well, i went for the 200 cup rack and had it fitted, but I'm still getting a knocking sound when turning the wheel and going over bumps etc. I (think) I've narrowed it down to potentially the front spring but I'm not 100%. Ahh these cars can be fun lol

Fair do's. I'll get it on a ramp and have a proper look. Ive already had the steering rack done, so hopefully shouldn't be that. How many hours labour to swap a balljoint do you reckon?

Jacked the car up and theres some play in the wheel at 9 and 3 o'clock but none at 12 and 6. would that suggest track rods rather than ball joint?
