£653 isn't bad at all! I assume you went direct to Quaife? Hmmmmmm.....

what do you think of these?

Very nice, rather not have the stamped text though.

Does fitting a Quaife diff make a difference?

Ah, I forget the T/C is a bit over zealous in these, probably for the best in some circumstances though - my mate's car will change lane with even a tickle if you're not paying attention.

Does fitting a Quaife diff make a difference?

How do you find it in the wet, does it jump around a bit when it loses grip?

    Anyone use the 330mm disc??

Looks superb. Can I ask for a favour, could you tell me the spec for your stud conversion?

    Whats on the menu tonight?

Well, I've just wasted a load of fuel hooning in the Peak District, done a 24k bike ride around the Derwent Valley and in a few hours I'll be enjoying the shoulder of lamb that's been slow roasting in the oven for 10 hours. By God, I deserve it!!

Wheel refurb in the NW?? also colour change

Hmm, gloss black makes the tyres look grey, stupid I know but it'd annoy me. I'd go satin or matte if you really want black. If the wheels are not kerbed and just want colouring then I'd use a local established powdercoater rather than a wheel refub place, you'll get exactly the same results at...

Who has thought about their pension?

Pension all the way, your company and the tax man are giving you free money towards it... you'd have to be mad not to. It's alright saying I can make more in an ISA/on the stockmarket, but can you really? and can you afford to lose it all should you make a bad decision?? I've got an old school...

Good and Bad news for our Ring Trip

It's the Renault World Series on the 18th, is it not?? I'd imagine the Ring will be pretty busy for that reason alone. Get what you can as quick as you can!

    Iffy brakes

    Excellent read.

    Iffy brakes

Everyone has a different way, but they all achieve the same result. You've got to get the pads as hot as possible (I'm talking smoking, fading style) so it transfers a load of material onto the disc and 'cures' the pads which helps stop them leeching deposits causing vibration. Drive to warm...

    Iffy brakes

They've probably never been properly bedded in, they're hard pads, they need to be given some controlled abuse to get them to work efficiently long term.

Cup Chassis VS no Cup Chassis

Mine is much harder than my old MKV Golf GTI which was on 18s. It's stiff, but not crashy, so it doesn't bother me too much.

    Dont buy OEM brake pads

I'd do it, it's not much money to swap the fluid and there's the peace of mind. I wouldn't necessarily bed pads in like that, you need to 'cure' them and get a good spread of material on the disc. Certainly with DS2500s. Everyone has a similar technique, but this is roughly mine. 10x60-5mph...

    Dont buy OEM brake pads

Hmm, it could well be watery and/or boiled then. I'd change it even if you go new pads.
