    Tax Renewal on Mk4 Clio

Huh? Tax brackets are based on Co2 emissions not the cost of the vehicle. I'm with MentalPen on this one, maybe a new rule for your bracket of vehicles is coming in at some point between 6-12months time. So it's free up until that point. Personally I'd do the 6months now, then try and figure...

Bell Blackbox Insurance, you'll laugh at this!

Honestly no idea. I haven't read the small print. From my (limited) understanding of it I think they randomly monitor his driving, and aren't monitoring it all the time. He does have to have the monitor in there all the time for the duration of his policy though.

Bell Blackbox Insurance, you'll laugh at this!

My brother just passed his test and he has one of these. He drives like a grandma everywhere as he's petrified of his insurance company (and my mum, since she paid for his insurance and gave her email address for the monthly reports lol). Needless to say we all find it hilarious. There is one...

My Full Fat Mistress - 293bhp F4RT - The end of an era...

He said engine, not gearbox :D. As sad as it is to see it gone, I'm already looking forward to the next project! I'll wait for the "Rob, I've picked up the new Lotus, but it's a bit mucky, swirled, covered in brake dust from the insane race pads I'm running..." phone call. :D. Also I'm sure...

    Intake pipe/header tank

Anyone find their header tank is a little loose and making contact with the intake pipe? Mine have been knocking against each other, no real damage but it's starting to wear the plastic and I think it's rattling a little sometimes. https://vimeo.com/102224633

    /DRIVE network on YouTube

No mate, details seem a bit thin on the ground. Only that the content will be 'longer' and that shorter content and trailers will still be put up on /Drive. No mention of what they'll do with the other content. Personally I have a guilty pleasure of watching the /Tuned, /Muscle and the...

Renaultsport RS 01 new car announced (Alpine)

But you can buy a Megane from a dealership ;). Granted you can't buy a space frame, mid engined V6. But it still makes more sense than this.

    /DRIVE network on YouTube

Just wondering if any members watch the /DRIVE network on youtube? Personally I'm a big fan and think it's one of the best channels on YT for car content. Anyone who hasn't check it out should do! Anyway, turns out they're gonna start charging a subscription for the longer vids as they just...

    Anyone had a valve replaced?

How long after you had the cambelt done was the problem found? Surely if it's a badly fitted belt then you should be taking it back to the garage and kicking up a fuss. I know I would be.

Renaultsport RS 01 new car announced (Alpine)

So they've sacked off the Alpine road car project, and decided they had better find a way to make use of the R&D budget they pumped in to it by making it a Renault branded race car? I hope I'm getting it wrong, as the Alpine/Caterham project seemed like a decent idea. But to just have a one...

    Clamps for exhaust trims

Hi Guys, Anyone know what size clamps are needed for the exhaust trims. I'm gonna buy some stainless Mikalor band clamps as my old ones rusted (they're in the boot of the car and the Mrs has it at work - hence me asking the question). Thanks!

    Gam's Black 197 **UPDATE #7

Haha that brake lights thing is like something I'd do. There's a weird satisfaction from knowing something is clean, even when it can't be seen. Whenever I take something off my car, it and whatever was behind it gets cleaned before being refitted lol - This is my excuse for why everything takes...

    End of an era.

You know my thoughts ;) If it's for weekend fun, you don't want much depreciation and affordable insurance then the MX5 is the answer. Faster than any Mk6 Fez, similar speed to the abarth, LOTS of tuning potential (anywhere from £800-£1800 will see you 200-260+ BHP) plus it's more of a special...

    197: Advice!

^^ sounds like they should buy mine ;). Could be up for sale soon (if we do decide to take the plunge on the new car).

    197: Advice!

Your journey sounds very similar to my wifes, she gets 34-36mpg on her commute to work (40-50miles, mostly Mway, some A road, couple of roundabouts). Before she had this job it was smaller journeys and I spent more time driving the car so we used to get 27-30mpg then. TBH if you're well behaved...
