    Clio 197 oil cooler removal

Took about an hour. It's fiddly, but not too bad. If it isn't leaking, yeah wait until next oil/filter change. But you don't lose much oil doing it, so no harm just getting it done

    Clio 197 oil cooler removal

No worries, hopefully my guide above helps too... I'm not sure if the 200 engine bay differs all that much. The oil cooler is a known leak source, so will be interesting to see what yours is like when it comes off. Let us know

I bought one from a brand called NRF. Think they're a Dutch manufacturer. Fitment was OE and it's been perfectly fine

    Clio 197 oil cooler removal

I finally got round to doing the Oil cooler swap today. I hope this helps some other folk in the future, as I explain how i did this job, without lifting the car and accessing only from the top of the engine bay! To start off with, it is important to remember that gravity is your...

    Clio 197 oil cooler removal

Ahhh, I had thought about a coolant flush, but totally overlooked the AC drain/recharge! I will have a think about it, before tackling the job then. Thanks again for your assistance @RSRowe, I appreciate it!

    Clio 197 oil cooler removal

Thinking about how best to get to the oil cooler, with pipework being in the way of it from top. Is the Bumper and Radiator (Coolant and AC) removal a big job on the 197? Thinking that would open up the front, for me to workface on, instead of above/below. Any advise is much appreciated!

    Clio 197 oil cooler removal

Thank you so much, I appreciate the clarification! I am starting to doubt the part number I originally provided (8200806731), as it claims to be for the F4R 832 engine. The 197 has a F4R 830, right? Does anyone happen to know if the 197 and 200 engines differ enough, that the oil cooler would...

    Clio 197 oil cooler removal

Thank you for this confirmation, I really appreciate it! So if I remove that, in theory the oil cooler should be able to be gently pulled away from the block, to fit a new cooler?

    Clio 197 oil cooler removal

Hi All, I have a 2007 Clio 197. I have an issue by where the new oil filter is leaking around the seal. Looking at the mating face of the oil cooler (The thing the oil filter screws on to, which has coolant pipes), it is disformed, as though maybe the previous oil filter was tightened too...

    K20 my Clio

Any update on this build? Seen a K20 swap on FB group.... I bought my Clio 197 in December and before it I have had: - FD2 Type R - S2000 - EP3 I would love to have the 197 K-swapped... The chassis on the 197 is far superior than that of older Hondas (As much as I hate to admit). A K20 in...

197 Front Damper Hub Bolt - No Nut *Rolls eyes*

Thanks guys. I did try hitting it with a hammer and it really did not want to go. Do you think, jacking up the hub, whilst car is in air, then getting plumbers blowtorch on the hub to heat it up will be what I need to do? Got a bolt and nut ready to replace it. Just need to actually get it out...

197 Front Damper Hub Bolt - No Nut *Rolls eyes*

Hi all, Bought what I thought was a clean 197 in December, had the Cambelt done at Renault Bristol, where they did a health check and did not seem to catch this... Whilst doing a full service myself (Oils, filter, spark plugs and Thermostat), I noticed when taking the passenger front wheel...
