As said above hitting limiter itself wouldn't usually finish a gearbox unless it is hit all the time! Maybe by you saying there was a fair jolt it's dislodged a gear cable or something like that ?

I had mine on the rollers 2 years ago 70000 miles 8 year old at the time 189bhp. Well impressed. Going on the rollers tomorrow 82,000 miles il put the graph up of what it puts out.

Really feel for you guys Bigstu77 jupp nothing worse than buying a car and feeling let down like this! Bigstu77 have you done a compression test on the engine ? Just to see if it flings up anything ? You have prob tried most things that causes these faults.

What fuel are you using Bigstu77? I have driven cars with these symptoms in work and you wouldn't believe the fuel quality that came out of them! Another thing I would do that only take 5-10 mins is remove the throttle body and see how dirty it is, give it a clean. Not saying these will fix...

Yeah m8 these brakes on the 197/200 are one thing you really need to keep on top of. I did mine last year and had to drill one of the pins out! Poor as I am a mechanic and knowing the issue should never have left them as long as I did. Difference was unbelievable after service. Hope you enjoy...
