Toyosports Exhaust Manifold - performance wise

Well after posting up my results I did the proper thing and just took the car out for a blast last night. As usual with these things, as I think we all know, when they're running right, they put a huge smile on your face. It's just nice to have it all working well again - after having it mapped...

Toyosports Exhaust Manifold - performance wise

Well all I can say is don't bother, unless your Renault manifold is broken. Renault: Toyosports: Mine had lost 6bhp from putting the Toyosports manifold on it, so that's a bit disappointing. Although there could be any number of factors which could cause that, like spark plugs being...

    Toyo sports manifold

My manifold cracked on cylinders 2 and 3, so I had the Toyosports fitted. My garage's solution was to bend the subframe rather than grind it: I got a brand new lower torque link and upper stabiliser, and fitted a Powerflex insert in the lower torque link. It's only ever clashed with the...

    Manifold cracked!

I honestly can't say what the specific symptoms of the lower stabiliser being worn are - they both were shot and I had both replaced at the same time. All I can say is it certainly felt like there was a knocking over bumps coming from just the driver's side front of the car, and the engine...

    LY R27 Shell garage Rotherham

Spotted you brimming up at Shell Canklow Bridge, I was jet washing the missus' Z4. Don't know if you were there with the LY 225 and the black 250 that were there around about the same time? Anyway, car looked awesome in the sun

    Pirelli P Zero Nero

I've had these on the front of my 197 for about 15 months now, they're finally down to 2 mm after at a guess 12,000 miles. They're okay, wet grip was good over last winter. I went to the Malton meet last autumn and it was pretty rubbish conditions and the grip was excellent when pushing on...

Toyosports Exhaust Manifold - performance wise

I'm planning on taking mine to RS Tuning later in the year to get it mapped after having the Toyosports manifold fitted. It managed 187.5bhp @7300rpm and 151ftlb @5650 there last year, so I have a benchmark. Keep an eye out, I'll post a thread with the results. It doesn't feel any faster, though.

    Manifold cracked!

I've had mine replaced with a Toyosports one. The bush in my upper torque link was falling apart, and the lower stabliser was, well, not stabilising at all. I ordered new ones from Renault Wolverhampton, came in at just under £100. The upper torque link takes about five minutes to replace, the...

Cracked manifold... check your engine mounts!

A couple of weeks ago I was giving the engine bay a clean, and also under the scuttle panel. It was then I noticed the dreaded soot around the welds on the manifold flange - cylinders 2 and 3 in this case. The odometer was on 63,900, and the car is now about 6.5 years old. After going from the...

Gearbox problem on RS Clio 200 2010

If my experience with Renault main dealers is anything to go by, they have no idea of the difference between these cars and the 1.2 that you're currently driving. I'm not sure why they said the thing about 1,000 miles before they've properly inspected it though? Anyway, if they offer a brand...

Gearbox problem on RS Clio 200 2010

First step would be changing the gearbox oil. Mine sounded horrible, it was a really nasty metallic whine when you came off throttle still in gear. You'll need two of these http://www.nielsencdg.co.uk/acatalog/Elf-Tranself-NFJ-75W-80-Gear-Oil--1L-RENAULT.html#SID=115 if you want to do that. I...

Gearbox problem on RS Clio 200 2010

Also, what kind of a whine is it? Is it constant? Or is it when you let off the throttle at high rpm? If the second one, "they all do that," but it helped mine greatly by replacing the gearbox oil with the recommended Elf oil.

Gearbox problem on RS Clio 200 2010

Unfortunately it might be the sort of problem that many, many people on here have had: http://www.clio197.net/forum/showthread.php?15851-Has-your-gearbox-been-replaced-Yes-or-no If it needs a new gearbox, try getting Renault UK to make a contribution. Unfortunately it won't be cheap, though...

    Engine Oil... confused.

It needs to be something which meets Renault's RN0710 spec, which that Magnatec does not. (Why did they not use Elf Evolution?) I wouldn't top it up: I'd look at getting it dropped and some correct oil putting in. I've used Castrol Edge FST and the Elf Evolution SXR, I'm sure there are plenty...

    Front wing grills

This is of course from marketing materials so it could just be fantasy. I know on the passenger side there's what seems to be a black plastic bag full of soundproofing behind the arch liner, this might be what made it feel like the vents were blocked off? Joe

    Gear box oil

I went for the Elf NFJ GL4+ - the datasheet http://www.totaloil.com.au/pages/content/nt0000c9da.pdf says it's approved by Renault for the TL4 box. As I understand it (and am more than happy to be corrected), GL4+ means an oil that will satisfy GL4 and GL5 - it's equivalent to "GL4/GL5" labelling...

Purchased FullFat storm grey rs200, from South Wales

Congrats, should be perfect on South Wales' roads! Just don't bin it, last time I was in South Wales I got a little, er, overenthusiastic and had a couple of slides on sections with big drops. If you're going to get a remap bear in mind it probably won't do very much on the top end, but should...
