    Tractor Boy

I hadnt even noticed that they'd faded, until seeing the "before/after" pic, looks like it's worked an absolute treat. You do it whilst the grille was in situ or removed it? Making me now wonder if my side vents above the wheel have actually faded like that. Can only imagine how fiddly doing...

    Loose gear stick

Do the gear linkages themselves look in good nick? I could be wrong but I thought loose gearstick could mean either worn linkages or gearbox worn/wearing out...I hope I'm wrong on that though.

    SHOW PLATES BUT ####

Basically yes as they're the company that made up the plate, as it will also have their registration code/post code and the BS number. Like I say it would only cause an issue if you got pulled over by a jobsworth police officer etc.

    SHOW PLATES BUT ####

Last I heard you're not allowed any writing on the plate other than the registration code and name of the company that made up the plates...to be 100% road legal that is, so the likes of clio197.net etc is illegal...unless it's changed again and I've not noticed? Yes they can be put on but then...

    WELSHMAN 100% not English

I don't think you need to...which is what makes it funnier...lol Ahh be good old English vs the borders arguments. Never fails to find it amusing. Although I get the other end of the stick at work for being an Englishman living in Scotland...the other place notorious for sheep.....

Ah that's kinda what I was sorta thinking along, eventually, being further out the circumference of the wheel turning is greater. Thanks for clearing it up too

    Can I use 225/45/R17 tyres

You know what I never even considered that....good spot. Then again...if I'm understanding correctly what spacers do...pushes the wheel further out from the inner of the car...then surely it wouldn't catch on the inner arch?? Wait, but then it might catch the arch when on full lock... Oh...

    Can I use 225/45/R17 tyres

Could be the wheels themselves on the Clio could be narrower. And I think @MrIII means when the wheels are pushed further out by spacers...could be fowling on the top of the wheel arch when under load etc, or maybe I'm too tired to understand too lol

    Engine top end ticking noise

    MY SECOND HOME

This site is just awesome. Could go on and say more but that line just sums it up perfectly I think. I'm more used to being on local forums, not car specific ones, last time I was was a corsa one and got a bit dull eventually apart from the guys on it, but once you've seen a...

    197's / 200's - high state of tune ?

I know very little about bikes but would still say the clios engine is highly tuned, one of the reasons it's so expensive to get more power out of it is because it's so near the max you can get from it without bolting on a turbo etc. As Mes has said, how many other n/a cars (like the Clio)...
