MS 200 fun road and track car - and other car stuff!

Thanks for the really kind comments, the car is a labour of love and I'm trying to capture the human aspect as that's what I enjoy watching in other people's videos. It's a Honda F20c (S2000) engine and 'box mated to the Mazda rear end, with a HKS GT centrifugal charger. Makes about 350-380bhp...

Spot on Ben! Definitely makes the straights feel shorter! Thanks mate, I'm very much learning and must admit I don't find the editing process and software very intuitive, not to mention the uneasiness with a camera pointed at me!! :tearsofjoy: The forward and rear facing cams are...

The Clio is booked in at Birchdown on the 19th so not long until it will be back to full health and hopefully better than ever! I had a stroke of luck in that Andy at Birchdown has hoarded a couple of the inserts I need, negating the need for a more complicated or expensive solution...

    Shuv's Racing Blue 200...................

Thanks! And for documenting this all so well, nearly every time I come to do anything there's a well reasoned and described path here! :grinning:

    Shuv's Racing Blue 200...................

Sorry to go off topic Shuv, I've not caught up to date yet with your thread!... Did you settle on the 5 or 8mm spacers at the front? I've looked through a couple of your threads and the relevant pages in here and I think I'm looking for just what you've achieved with yours! :thumb:

    Who's using Cup Racer / R3 bits?

Good to know, same go for stub axle spacers at the rear or are they ok?

MS 200 fun road and track car - and other car stuff!

Need to phone up a couple of places this week for a quote. There's a temptation to do it myself too, trying to work out whether time or money is at the bigger premium at the moment! :sob: Just working out if there's anything else (without spending much more) that's worth doing at the same time.

Found the compbrake top mounts today having put them 'somewhere safe', and checked the compatibility with the Konis. I think they look ok, the bits are where I expected them to be, although a small negative is that the shock adjusters won't fit with the Compbrake top nuts. I should be able to...

    Who's using Cup Racer / R3 bits?

Thanks @A1axx the lowering springs are a small drop so will hopefully work out well. At the risk of going off topic, what would your recommendation be for front spacers? From a function perspective though I do like the look of a slightly wider track.

    Who's using Cup Racer / R3 bits?

That's great news although I expect the hubs will need to come off to drill out the hole. Reasons for me considering this are two fold, firstly one of the OEM inserts from the same position is missing and replacements are proving difficult to source. Secondly I'm about to lower the car a little...

    Who's using Cup Racer / R3 bits?

Thanks for documenting all this information, very useful and interesting! :sunglasses: Could any of you gents confirm that the TRE bump steer bits can be fitted on their own? Or are other bits necessitated by their use? And is it necessary to widen the hole in the hub for their installation?

MS 200 fun road and track car - and other car stuff!

Thanks gents, @sevenfourate , yes the house is most definitely the biggest news, the culmination of our combined studies and working lives! The realisation of a humble dream! :grinning: Can you tell I'm keen to make the most of it and enjoy it! :tearsofjoy: The suspension I cancelled then sold...

MS 200 fun road and track car - and other car stuff!

Well, all is progressing wonderfully well with the house, we worked our asses off getting our house perfect for sale, got it on the market aggressively and accepted an offer all in 10 days! We have now agreed a great deal on the house we fell in love with, so it's really happening! Super...

Track rod end ball joint hub steel insert

Hi all, I've had a search but can't find an answer. Can anyone suggest a supplier for a steel insert for the hub that sits over the TRE ball joint? Thanks for any help!

Ready to order suspension, hoping someone can confirm compatibility..

I have no desire to corner weight this car and ultimately that's what adjustable collars are for. Adjustable damping a bigger benefit for me on a road/track car. :thumb: I've actually cancelled the order for the suspension as a house has come up that ticks a lot of boxes for us so funds...

MS 200 fun road and track car - and other car stuff!

Almost a backwards step in this update for the Clio, but for the greater good... The suspension kit is on back order and we have just found something of a dream house for us over in Lincolnshire. We had planned to move next spring but would like to at least try to get this through, so perhaps...

Cheers! Will do, not got notification that he suspension has been shipped yet, was hoping to have it for the weekend. Can't wait!! I've decided this is the ideal car for popping my Nurburgring cherry with a trip or three. Hopefully with the suspension and setup, along with the stuff I've done...

No they're strong figures aren't they! It has the Dinan stage 1 software upgrade and some further map tweaks on the dyno. Feels very muscular! :smilingimp:
