Had quite a productive day today finished the engine bay fuel set up and just need to finish inside the car now. Also fitted the roof vent.

Ideal Ben, the tyres will be just fine and great for the money. I’m planning on picking up a spare 225 / R26 engine in the new year for a proper forge build too.

Right that’s all the new fuel parts Fitted the new bulkhead fittings this evening too The rest will be finished off over Xmas now.

Mounted the regulator ready to work out the rest of the engine bay fuel lines. I’ve also stripped and checked over the the front brakes today. Everything looks fine and now ready for next year. Has anyone with a Megane conversion run it without the vacuum purge valve?

I’ll do it myself mate. I’ve built quite a few motors over the years and quite enjoy it. I can also get all the forged components including rods, pistons and uprated valvetrain at good prices. This was the last engine I restored and built last month. A series engine from a 1968 mini van.

I’m in two minds to turn it right up and see how long it lasts lol. At least I’ve then got an excuse to forge it.

Not yet Ben but that is probably the way I’ll go with it. For now I mainly want the map checked and see if we can extract a bit more power from it. It’s within the save zone so would like to take it to around the 300/300 mark.

I could make another mate if you wanted one. PM me Last night @Mark_L came over and welded up the fuel rail for me and did a fantastic job too. Just need to order and fit the new fuel lines and regulator now. Then in the new year I’m planning on taking it for another map to get a bit more...

Fitted a new fuel pump cover today. Will be removing it again shortly for the fuel system changes but pretty pleased with it.

Time to start on the revised fuel system First thing was to remove the regulator mount and feed. Now to decide where to fit the new feed and return. I will also need to blank off the old feed hole. Once this is all the welded up I’ll start on the new lines and fittings.

Yes mate I can get boost through it too. I’ll be a running a adjustable rising rate regulator after the rail and setting it to 3.5bar. The plan is to bypass the regulator in the sender and run the fuel pump direct to the sender outlet with the return flowing back to the sender and to the pump...
