    oil

Danmar, you want a pure PAO and Ester based fully synthetic 5w40 oil. Not just a 'fully synthetic' (which can have hydro cracked base oil used), make sure it's PAO Ester based. I've always used Silkolene Pro S, now branded Fuchs Titan Race Pro S. It's ACEA A3/B3 approved which are the...

    Clio 197 F1 R27 decals

Yep, there's that too. The car will no longer be original and could cost a lot of money to put it back to standard. Renault are also likely to stop making the stickers in the next few years too. The car is about ten years old isn't it? If so, then you'll really struggle to return it to original...

    Clio 197 F1 R27 decals

I'd be a little careful removing ten year old stickers from a black car. Depending on how the paintwork has been looked after you may find there has been some sun fading over the years. Hopefully not, but when you remove the stickers you may find you'll have slightly different coloured sticker...

    Tarmac Rally Car

I guessed that would be the case. These things don't have much low down grunt. : ) brave is best. Later in the stage you seemed to have greater momentum when in second for 90's that weren't quite as tight; or didn't have solid objects on the outside...solid objects always act like magnets in...

    Tarmac Rally Car

The YouTube clip looks like a lot of fun. Sorry to hear of the DNF. Is the engine so hungry for high revs, and presumably like the road going version has little power low in the rev range, that so many of those 90 left and rights are first gear? Or have you chosen particular ratios in the Sadev...

200 Head Lights Types (Pics Wanted)

The projectors on a Clio III 200, if fitted, did have cornering lights (and black surrounds I think). As fano45 said, the non projector standard halogen lights came in two styles. Those with and those without black surrounds. At one time I thought whether the lights had the black surround or...

Fuel economy - Max miles to a tank?

Nope. You'd be mad to. Thirsty beasts that should be kept well watered. MPG was the OP's original question.

Fuel economy - Max miles to a tank?

Yea, gutting eh. Think of all the money you could have saved to spend on penny sweets. I just think they look too garish, but that's personal taste. As a purely cosmetic addition that has zero effect, other than creating drag, I'd rather mine wasn't fitted, but the rest of the spec was too...

Fuel economy - Max miles to a tank?

Honestly, I never noticed. As I previously mentioned I was a teenager in a feather weight Mini. I don't coast down seven mile hills as an 'adult'. No point and no need to. It may have used up a little more friction material, but probably a negligible amount.

Fuel economy - Max miles to a tank?

Pretty much. Although driving like grandma on A roads probably still yields good mpg, but not as good as constant motorway cruising at 55-60mph. The minute you drive them properly the efficiency plummets and mpg is dreadful. Having a Cup spoiler will add drag too, so a car with a GT spoiler or...

    Should These Be Connected?

Could it be some form of diagnostic tool connecting wire? Doubling as the hybrid turbo of course...

Fuel economy - Max miles to a tank?

When you're 17, would rather save money for beer than petrol, and have a sorted 1275 Mini it felt like it was fun. Not something I'd do now or encourage. Growing up on the Welsh Shropshire border one has a tendency to do foolish things in cars. Thankfully I never had an accident that involved...

Fuel economy - Max miles to a tank?

It's gallons per hour that he uses as his measurement. Not miles per gallon. Yes, he also mentions certain trip computers measure air flow and not fuel flow, so those trip computer gains I mentioned could be seen as invalid. We don't, I certainly don't, know what Renault use as the data inputs...

Fuel economy - Max miles to a tank?

Correct. It's a tiny amount of fuel though. As I mentioned to Kazumz, you'll cover greater distance in neutral than being in gear and subject to engine braking. You may not be able to do this in a 200T due to the new gearbox, but in a 200 (or any manual car) you can watch the trip computers...

Fuel economy - Max miles to a tank?

I wouldn't worry about the length of any straight after a hill. Any car will happily fly around bends in neutral as well. Personally, if I was trying to get the most mpg I wouldn't use any engine braking at all, even being in sixth will create a tiny bit of drag. Good mpg is all about...

    Can't get my wheels off

If it's that stuck some serious heat has gone into it, or water and it's rusted on. When you put all the wheels back on remember to put a little Copaslip, or any anti-seize high temperature grease, on the face of the wheel and the hub. You can put a little on the wheel bolt threads too. You'll...

Fuel economy - Max miles to a tank?

An engine slowing from say 3000 rpm will be slowing rapidly without your foot on the accelerator. When in gear and off the accelerator there is also the effect of engine braking and significant internal drag from the gearbox. Causing the car to stop fairly quickly and stall. It has to be an...

Fuel economy - Max miles to a tank?

I may have just managed 450 once. This was a brimmed tank of V-Power Nitro+, straight onto the motorway from fuelling and granny driving using the cruise control set at 57mph (59-60mph on speedo). I got mpg readings of about 38.1. Higher if I used 'Mexican Overdrive', knocking it into neutral...

    Renaultsport heritage website

The recent rebranding Renault has gone through has seen them decide to overhaul their web presence too. The Renault UK website has changed and everything associated with it. Very sadly the heritage site has gone and no longer seems to be available. It was a real God send for me when researching...

Gearbox Oil - MTL Redline or other?

I'm sure that will be a fine choice. Please update the thread as to whether you notice any difference.
