Hiya guys, So this morning my car won't start... the electrics all come on but when I push the start button the cluster reads gibberish for a few seconds, car makes a lot of clicking noises but doesn't turn over, and various warning messages show, such as Steering Not Locked, Brake Fault, ABS...

I like big butts, I cannot lie ;) I'd never park next to a family car, kids are the worst at dinging doors and some parents don't care whether they do it or not !

This pretty much covers it. I'd second having the tool for removing the bottom hose, that clip was the most tricky part of the job for me! This thread shows the bleeding points. The bleed screw on the thermostat housing is the copper colored screw. :wink: Once you're topped up and bled...

Thanks for the heads up guys, I was thinking maybe it would be best to replace with an OE torque arm, as maybe the vibration isn't going to do the car good in the long term, so good to know it should settle down. Right now the car feels great to drive, very tight and no knocks or clunks.

I can't believe how different it feels, much tighter in general, altho there is quite a lot more vibration, especially through the steering wheel when idling. It def feels better when driving though and the car isnt for sitting around idling ;)

All done just had to wack a screwdriver in there and it pops off!

Any tips for getting the steel bush retaining plate off? Cheers

Thanks, that's good to know. I can't quite believe how much movement there is in the arm at the moment, I'm surprised it only knocks when cold. Makes me think maybe the other bushes are worth swapping out...

I've had a knocking when cold from the top of my engine for a while now and found that the top mount (torque arm?) moves quite a bit when I wiggle it, searching the forum I see it's quite common. The arm itself looks easy enough to change, just 2 bolts, altho the way it moves I think it's just...

I use V-Power exclusively... I once put in Tescos Super-Unleaded and my car started bunny hopping! Always smooth running with V-Power.

I went for 4 nights/5 days and was blessed with great weather this trip, only the odd shower & plenty of sun so the only dirt that gathered was brake dust :wink: Cheers buddy, the calipers were red from new as I have the cup pack, I just prefer silver wheels so had them refurbed from...

Cheers, I just made a thread listing some of the standout roads. I just had the wheels refurbed before the trip, along with brakes all round, new n/s lower arm and themostat/seal so was good to get out there and put it all to use!

As i climbed into my car the other week I heard a loud *ping* as my lumbar support gave way, so seeing this makes me happy :smile: I don't think I'll be fixing it anytime soon as I've just changed brakes all round, the n/s lower arm, both link arms, the hub & bearing... I need a weekend off...
