Sideshowfreds Ultra Red 200 -- Fully Caged Track Toy

Only when driving in heavy rain. Luckily I've only had it happen once but now carry a roll of tape around with me ready to cover the front of it up if I need to! Sent from my LYA-L09 using Tapatalk

Sideshowfreds Ultra Red 200 -- Fully Caged Track Toy

Another couple of months with not a lot happening to the car until last week. A rather frantic week with a local car show on Wednesday followed by the Mot on Friday lunchtime then onto Bedford Autodrome for the final Evo Track Evening of the year. I didn't do a great deal of miles but those I...

    GW 197 track build

Looks so at home on track. Would look more cup racer using the white wheels for track use though!

    Project CUP mkII

I love Bedford but always seem to find the sort of driver that was in the Atom. They also don't seem to bother giving blue flags out anymore. Car looks planted though and sounds great.

    Project CUP mkII

From what i have noticed lately i think cars that came from the factory as Cup's had the basic rubber pedals. Just like they have the more basic dash, normal key and the steering column is slightly different too. Loving the progress on this car. Door cards look great and makes me wish i had...

Mike's Clio 200 track day car

Safety Devices cages are heavy. I have the R023 in mine, so the slightly lighter version due to a few less cross bars, and it's still a very heavy piece of kit. I would love to give you an actual weight but i have no idea!

Michelin Cup tyre pressures - what are you running?

No experience with cup 2's but on the Pilot Sport Cups (1) i used to run i was running somewhere around 30-32 hot and played it by how the car felt on the day. Aim for the same sort of pressures with my AD08R's now but again see how the car feels when out on track.

    Rattle on idle...

Easiest way is to see if the torque arm mount has a bushing showing both sides of it like mine below. If not and it's got a metal collar round one side then it is the standard mounting Sent from my LYA-L09 using Tapatalk

    Rattle on idle...

just going to throw this in there re: upgraded engine mounts. Black series bushes are VERY bad for vibration but at a quick glance you wouldn't tell they're upgraded.

    Anyone else’s clio falling apart?

They're not young cars now. Mines 10 years old with 53k on it and everything seems to have either broken or is on it's way out. I think we sometimes forget how old a vehicle they are now. Mines got lacquer peel starting on the bumper, inner tie rods etc need doing and it's more than likely due...

    GW 197 track build

No, mines a full fat so keyless start whereas I know yours is a cup. But I can't imagine the wiring is so vastly different as there has to be an ignition wire somewhere. Sent from my LYA-L09 using Tapatalk

    GW 197 track build

Have you wired in the electrical cut off switch yet? If so any chance you could tell me how it's been done as it's one of the next jobs on my list but don't even know where to start with wiring it up properly.

    GW 197 track build

Thanks, I would say go for it but I quite like being the only one out there with one! Looking forward to seeing what else you do with yours from this point on. Sent from my LYA-L09 using Tapatalk

    GW 197 track build

Your cage looks so much neater that's all! I agree on the re-shell front though, it certainly would make it easier as long as the cage isn't damaged. Sent from my LYA-L09 using Tapatalk

Looking great, often wish i had gone down the full weld in Clio Cup copy route with my cage.

Sideshowfreds Ultra Red 200 -- Fully Caged Track Toy

Not a lot has been going on. Lack of funds for the car and things to do with it has resulted in it sitting on the drive for the last couple of months. Took it out to a local car show after work yesterday with a mate in his Nissan Ps13. It was nice to give it a bit of a run. Next track time is...

197: Thinking about selling my 197...

In the three years i owned it the only issue i had was the rear wheel bearing letting go and throwing up an ABS light. It tended to eat tyres but that might have been because i was in my early 20's with my first hot hatch! Never had to replace anything suspension wise but there are plenty of...

197: Thinking about selling my 197...

I came from a 3 door MK5 Golf GTI to the Clio when it was my daily car. They are much more civilised in terms of comfort, fuel economy is a little better but not hugely. As for boot size, i actually think the boot in the Clio is bigger, if you park a Mk3 Clio next to a MK5 Golf you will be...
